Reaching out...how?

Content

Got (unsolicited) newsletter in a personal e-mail inbox.
Came tagged as "suspected spam".
URL indicated sender used Constant Contact.
Quick search brought up a review that discusses basic features of email marketing software and a comparison of the two leaders, Constant Contact and MailChimp (http://mailchimp.com/).
Considering the pain in manually sending e-mails to the extended Climbing/COPE committee, I should look into it.
Need to carefully select the account. The review implies the email account used for managing email marketing may lead to that account being blocked from sending or receiving by virtue of being tagged a source of spam.
Why use the application(s)?
They enforce rules that improve likelihood of NOT being tagged as sending spam (e.g., including an opt-out facility).
