[Photos 1A through 4B] On 2016-07-11, the tower operators helping Patriot District were lowering the Scouterhorn and observed a large pool of hydraulic oil under the tower. Discussions with the product manager from Spectrum Sportsled to the hypothesis that if the voltage to the pump was low, the coil controlling the flow control may have stuck. Oil may have not been returning to the top of the tower resulting in the oil from the bottom of the pistons filling the reservoir. We depressed the starboard side of the flow control. Vibration of the port side pipes suggest oil was being pushed into the tops of the pistons. Key for the future operations; always ensure a strong current to the motor; at least 12 volts. [Photos 4C through 7B] On 2016-07-16, White Oak District operated the Scouterhorn in support of the 2016 DARCARS Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest at the Cabin John Mall and Shopping Center, Potomac, MD. Prior to being inspected, we checked the auto-belays and found a discrepancy with one. I neglected to photograph the oil-sights. Before erecting the tower, the oil-sight for AB#1 (from the rear of the trailer looking to the tongue, numbering left to right) was blueish and the other 3 were clear. When erected, all oil-sights were uniform blueish.
